Clan Paisley Gathering at Charleston Games 2019
CHARLESTON GAMES 31st Oct to 2nd Nov 2019
After a year’s planning, at last the Games were upon us! The Scottish Games held annually at Boone Hall Plantation, South Carolina were deemed a triumph of planning and execution by those who attended this impressive event in the low country.

The 48th Scottish Games and Highland Gathering for the Paisleys was a resounding success. Our Chieftain, his Lady, Chairman John K. (Yanni) Paisley, Council Member and Armiger, Sandy Paisley from Scotland established themselves in a splendid villa on Sullivan’s Isle. Thirteen members stayed in this commodious accommodation which provided an excellent venue for a council meeting, film night, reception and barbeque over three days.
With our Chieftain and Lady Jane we were published as Distinguished Guests and Clan, we were grateful for this honour.
The saluting dais from left to right: Singer, The Marquis of Tullibardine (Murray; Honoured Clan) Col. Wayne J. Morgan, President of the Games, Earl of Eglington (Montgomerie), Martha Pasley M. Brown, Commissioner, Westerlea (Paisley; Distinguished Clan) The Rev Peter Sutton; Guest Preacher, St. Cuthbert, Edinburgh
We were especially happy to meet new members of the North Carolina branch, headed up by Donald Paisley and seven new members from Canada.
A full report will appear in vol.20 of our Society Journal to be published in time for Christmas.
