Clan Paisley Society 42nd Gathering Summer 2019
The Society held its biannual gathering at Ardtalla Slamannan on the 7th to the 9th of June 2019. Despite the gloomy forecast for the weekend and all precautions taken, the period proved to be tolerable to warm and thoroughly enjoyable.
The programme commenced with a barbeque on the Friday evening for early arrivals. A council meeting and AGM was held on the Saturday morning followed by the main gathering when the newest volume of the Clan Society’s journal was circulated and everybody welcomed.

The principal guests included the Provost of Renfrewshire, Cllr. Lorraine Cameron and the Provost of Falkirk, Cllr. William Buchanan who were presented with commemorative bottles of Golden Pithari Olive Oil from the Paisley Grove in Greece.
Throughout the afternoon and evening the gathering enjoyed a first class piping and musical programme provided by Westerlea’s piper, Neil Paisley Clark and his wife Kathryn on a variety of instruments.
Sunday for a complete change of event, the Society had organised a trip on the steam ship ‘Sir Walter Scott’ up Loch Katrine to Stronachlachar where the twenty strong party alighted. A bus then transported them to the nearby shores of Loch Chon to enjoy a lavish picnic… and the musical entertainment continued.
